Gauntleys Mixed Wine Cases
Keeping In The Pink!

Sorry, this item is no longer available

We thank all our customers for their continuing support and hope everyone is staying safe and 'keeping in the pink'. We may still be confined to our gardens, but the trees are in blossom, flowers are in bloom, the sun has started to shine and it is time to 'drink pink'.

We are delighted to offer below six irresistible rose wines, including three incredibly stylish examples from leading domaines in three of France's best appellations for the production of serious rose, together with three sparkling wines of distinctly differing styles! The wines are offered in mixed cases of six or twelve bottles, all at a special 'Quarantine Support discount'.
At the present time, it might not be possible to view the world through rose-coloured spectacles, but at least we can enjoy a rose filled glass!

ELUSIA ORGANIC ROSATO SPUMANTE
There are no delusions of grandeur here, this irresistibly refreshing sparkling rosé, is simply pure pleasure. Produced from 100% Merlot and just 11% alcohol, this is a delightfully fresh, delicate and perfumed sparkling wine from one of the leading producers of organic Prosecco.
Enticingly aromatic with scents of wild berries and subtle herbaceous accents, there is a harmonious balance between the sweetness of the fruit; a pleasant crisp acidity and a smooth mousse that simply makes you want to continue to refill the glass.

CREMANT DE LOIRE ROSE, Prince Alexandre
Saumur has been synonymous with stylish sparkling wines for over a century. The distinctive clay/limestone and tufa chalk terroir, enable the wines here to retain a fabulous acidity, which of course, is key to a great sparkling wine. Produced by the Methode Traditionelle, from 100% Cabernet Franc, this delicious and vibrant Cremant has developed a lovely intensity of fruit whilst retaining its racy acidity and is certainly far more refined, than its label might imply.
Onion skin/salmon in colour, with a persistent, delicate mousse. Intense orange and red/loganberry fruits, with a lovely touch of minerality and fresh, zesty acidity. Superb balance and long fresh finish.

2013 ELENA DE MESTRES, Gran Reserva, Heratat Mestres
The small family estate of Mestres is producing some of the world's most spectacular sparkling wines. This fabulous rose, from a blend of Trepat, Garnacha and Monastrell, is, as the French would say, 'tres gourmande!'
Elena de Mestres is the only cask-aged rose Cava, spending 4 months in chestnut barriques, followed by 42 months sur latte, prior to degorgement by hand. The result is a subtly coloured rosé, with a wonderfully fine mousse and amazing complexity. Enticing, fragrant bouquet of red berry fruits, violets and toasty aromas, follow through onto the creamy and elegant palate. Fabulous depth combines with real finesse and impressively long finish. Truly fabulous!

2018 L'ACCENT ROSE, Clos de l'Ours
The superbly situated, Clos de l'Ours was purchased by Michel and Fabienne Brotons in 2012, when Michel took the decision to sell his business to pursue his life long dream of becoming a vigneron. Their 13 ha of vineyards are in a single block, surrounded and protected, by forests of oak and pine trees. Located to the north of the appellation, the vines here benefit from a superb microclimate of warm, sunny days and cool evenings.
Having historically been worked by the Templars, the vineyards had been managed organically since 2000 and the wines gained the organic certification in 2012. In his quest for perfection, Michel continues to work organically and the vineyards are also now in biodynamic conversion. In a short space of time, the Brotons have gained international recognition for their wines, which now adorn the lists of many leading restaurants.
Produced from a blend of 35% Grenache, 35 % Cinsault, plus Mourvedre, Carignan and Syrah. Delicate, pale pink in colour with a subtle, fragrant bouquet with red berry fruit, ruby grapefruit which carry through to the palate. Wonderful balance, with an attractive mineral/saline thread and refreshingly crisp acidity. Refined and elegant.

2018 SANCERRE ROSE, Daniel Crochet
Situated in the sleepy village of Bue, Domaine Daniel Crochet has 9 ha of prime sited vineyards with a variety of terroirs, including the fabulous Plante des Pres and Chene Marchande. The vineyards are meticulously managed with great care to the environment. From their 3 ha of Pinot Noir, the Domaine produces two superb red wines and this glorious, rose!
This is a 'definite' rose, with a lovely depth of colour. Wonderfully aromatic bouquet, with fragrant, ripe red and orange fruits. Dry, on the palate with red berry and blood orange fruit, ginger, spice and zesty acidity. Very harmonious balance with refreshing acidity and a long, clean finish. Impressive intensity, but real restraint too. A touch of class!

2018 BANDOL ROSE, Domaine Gros Nore
If you are looking for a serious rose, with real depth and complexity, then few can rival a rose from Bandol. The vineyards of the 8 communes that make up this very special appellation are scattered amidst the hills overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Situated in La Cadiere d'Azur, Domaine du Gros Nore has been run by the gentle giant, Alain Pascal, after he inherited the estate from his father in 1997. Since that time, the former boxer has elevated the Domaine to the forefront of the appellation, crafting wines of great charm, character and finesse.
From a blend of just over 50% Mourvedre, 25% Cinsault, 20% Grenache plus a touch of Clairette, this orange-hued rosé, offers a tantalizing array of peach, red berry and blood orange fruits with floral/herbal and clean mineral notes, balanced by a citrus acidity. Superb depth, structure, sophistication and finesse. Formidable!
