Gauntleys Mixed Wine Cases
The Premium Easter Mixed Case

Sorry, this item is no longer available

This is a six-bottle mixed case, containing 1x each of the following wines:

Crémant de Loire ‘1948’, Arnaud Lambert - £24.95 Per Bottle

Produced from 100% Chenin Blanc, grown on the clay soils of the Domaine, this magnificent, zero dosage sparkling wine, is named after the birth year of Arnaud’s father, Yves, who first founded the Domaine. The wine is vinified in 5-600 litre barrels and the fermentation stopped at 11.5 degrees. The residual sugar naturally induces the secondary fermentation. The depth and complexity here is fabulous, but again the wonderful acidity born from the terroir provides a superb drive and finesse.

2018 Anjou Blanc ‘Les Magnolias’, Chateau Roulerie - £24.15 Per Bottle

This stunning Chenin is one of Phillipe’s two fabulous single vineyard cuvées, from a small 2-hectare plot. With a fabulous intensity and delicious peach and nectarine fruit profile, with warming hints of ginger, combined with an elegant mineral character from the terroir and fine acidity. This is a stunning and more serious Chenin than the P’tit. Rounded with a subtle salty note on a long, clean and gourmet finish, this would go well alongside many dishes – fish, poultry, and the perfect partner for pork too. If you have more of a sweet tooth then this also pairs delightfully with soft, creamy cheesecake.

2018 Sancerre, Daniel Crochet - £17.65 Per Bottle

Produced on the argilo/calcaire soils, this is a wonderful example of a classic Sancerre. Pure, crisp aromatic fruit and wet stone minerality on the nose. Wonderful intensity on the palate. Dry, but with good depth and real intensity again, lovely racy acidity and classic mineral expression of Sancerre, yet restrained and elegant.

2018 Sancerre Rosé, Daniel Crochet - £19.85 Per Bottle

Lovely depth of colour. This is a 'definite' rose! Wonderful intense, fragrant, ripe red and orange fruits on the nose. Dry, on the palate with red berry and blood orange fruit, ginger, spice and zesty acidity. Very harmonious with great intensity, but real restraint too. Clean, refreshing acidity and perfect balance.

2018 Sancerre Rouge, Daniel Crochet – £21.65 Per Bottle

Produced from 20 year old vines and vinified and matured in concrete tank. This is all about purity, delicacy and finesse. Lovely fragrance on the nose with beautiful ripe, sweet strawberry and red berry fruits. Ripe pure, expressive palate with super balance and real finesse. Vibrant and refined.

2014 Brouilly ‘Les Croix des Rameaux’, Jean Claude Lapalu - £19.35 Per Bottle

Another divine entry from Jean Claude. There is sensational depth and structure here, perhaps due to the lack of destemmed fruit in barrel. Rich and complex bouquet of blackberry and mulberry scents, and almost a chalky dusty sensibility. The palate has great density but never falls into the trap of being overbearing or overpowering - it has great focus and precision. The lifting acidity and succulent fine tannins help round out this stunning Brouilly.
