Calusari Pinot Noir
Light, soft and welcoming nose of autumn fruits. Soft smooth & spicy flavours throughout with generous soft red fruit flavours & a lovely elegant finish. This Romanian Pinot Noir is perfect for summer. Pure, vibrant Pinot fruit, clean and elegant and such a complete contrast to the rustic reds that invaded the market from this part of the world in the past.
Fantastic value for money! Not overly complex, quite straight and linear (completely by design)in nature, but still pure, clean and wonderfully refined. This estate is one of the jewels of the Loire and they’re wines practically never disappoint. Even in the case of the p’tit Chenin which is one of there more direct and humble offerings its an absolute pleasure. Lovely ripeness of fruit on the nose which is slightly honeyed. Surprising intensity and complexity on the palate for a wine at this level, with a lovely richness of ripe, honeyed apricot fruits, harmoniously balanced by a refreshing, vibrant acidity. This delicious Ptit Chenin has a grand character and a real touch of class.
Produced from our beloved, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend, which is responsible for many of the unctuously, full bodied, red wines of the Southern Rhone, one might be forgiven for expecting this rose to be overly rich and powerful. In complete contrast, however, the Fleur d’Eglantine is a deliciously delicate and vibrant rose, with fabulous freshness and finesse. It has an attractively subtle colour in the glass and a delicately floral and fragrant bouquet. Dry on the palate, with delicious red berry/strawberry and red currants, with a fine, saline minerality, balanced by a refreshing lift of acidity. Lovely focus, vibrancy and finesse. Delicious on its own and perfect with grilled fish, chicken, pork and vegetable dishes or summer salads.
Elusia Organic Prosecco
The Elusia wines represent the very best of the Italian organic winemaking art. Based in and around Jesolo, a Province of Venezia in Veneto, North West Italy. The utmost care is given to the environment and the organically grown ‘Glera’ grapes, unencumbered by chemicals, are able to reach wonderful levels of ripeness and natural balance. In today’s market, their basic Prosecco represents excellent value for money. Many Proseccos around can either fall into the category of ‘insipidly neutral’ or ‘overly cloying’ with an over presence of sugar. The Elusia organic Prosecco confidently swerves both potential pit falls. It possesses lovely ripe fruit, with its palate evoking mouth-watering green apple and pear fruits alongside a subtle creaminess and pleasant tinge of honeydew. The mousse is fine and persistent whilst the pleasant balancing acidity gives a real lift and vibrance to the fruit. All round there is just a superb balance to this Prosecco, it is elegant, well rounded, refreshing and has a long clean finish. Perfect for all manner of occasions and social events, it works well as an appetizer and is also a fine partner to a variety of fish and vegetable dishes.
