Aloe Tree

With plenty of winemaking experience around the world, Trizanne Barnard, the winemaker at Aloe Tree, finally found her home and passion, when she settled in the Western Cape. Her wines are blended together using grapes from the windy vineyards of ‘Elim’, the old and expansive vineyards of ‘Overberg Highlands’, the sun cooked ‘Swartzland’ and the high slopes of ‘Piekernierskloof’. Cool nights and sea breezes combine to extend the growing season, resulting in perfectly balanced, ripe grapes. The vines are planted on Karoo clay soils, that add body and texture, incredibly all coming together, thanks to great care and skill, to create full, rich, textured and unique wines. The Shiraz offers a tantalizing melange of dark fruit flavours, black berry, black cherry and plum, with an attractive peppery note and soft integrated tannin. The Colomard is a superbly made little gem. The two varieties complement each other brilliantly, with the Colombard bringing flavours of the kiwi, whilst the Sauvignon adds more zesty citrus notes. A lovely refreshing wine.
