Baracchi

Nestled in the scenic hills of Cortona, under the radiant Tuscan sun, the Baracchi empire, epitomises the ‘Dolce Vita’, with its superb hotel and Michelin starred restaurant, where you can indulge in exceptional cuisine with a glorious glass of Baracchi wine.

The estate has been producing wine since 1860, but it was the late, dynamic and pioneering, Riccardo Baracchi who is responsible for the quality and range produced here today, which is thankfully continued by his son, Benedetto. With his deep passion for his birthplace, Riccardo managed to combine tradition with sustainability to produce exquisite wines of unparalleled quality. Together with his son Benedetto and the expertise of oenologist and agronomist Stefano Chioccioli, he meticulously selected the finest soils for each grape variety, creating a modern and dynamic winemaking venture.

It was a quest for Syrah, which inspired us to visit the vineyards of Cortona, but here at Baracchi, it was the incredibly appealing and seamless blended wines and sensational Sangiovese which we found truly exciting!

With vineyards spanning 32 hectares across four distinct locations within the prestigious DOC Cortona, Baracchi benefits from the ideal combination of earthy soils, abundant sunlight, high altitude, and a warm, dry microclimate. Each varietal is thoughtfully matched to its specific soil, ensuring that every plant’s characteristics are brilliantly enhanced.
