Chateau Rouquette sur Mer
The domaine covers an area of 420 hectares, of which only 50 hectares are under vine, in the heart of the appellation of La Clape, arguably the jewel in the crown of the Langeudoc. Here Jacques Boscary cultivates Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvedre, Roussanne and Bourboulenc, from tiny plots, nestled in and amongst the pine forests, dotted in various locations around the estate. Blessed with several different terroirs and with rows of Syrah and Mouvedre, which descend majestically down to the sea, Jacques crafts wines of extraordinary complexity and finesse and claims that “In order for the mourvèdre to be happy, it must look towards the sea”. The consistent quality throughout the range is remarkable.
