Domaine La Bouissiere

We are delighted to start working with the young and extremely talented Thierry Faraval in Gigondas. Together with his brother Gilles, they took over the running of this family domaine a few years ago.

Thierry is quiet and unassuming but tremendously focused. They own 9 hectares of vineyards planted high up underneath the Dentelles at 300 metres in altitude. Interestingly the majority of their vines face north-west. As a result and the fact that Thierry hates 'fat wines', their wines tend to be typically ripe (they are frequently the last to harvest) but with elegance and verve - even in 2003. One could almost say they have a Burgundian character. As Thierry says: 'I like mountain wine'. Thierry also owns a few hectares in Vacqueyras, which is a truly outstanding wine but very limited.
