Guerila

‘Guerila’ is translated as ‘Revolution’ and for the winemaker Zmago Petric and his family, this perfectly conveys his commitment to blaze his own trail and approach things in his own unique way. Based in the Vipavska Dolin, a district of Primorsk, Guerila was formed in 2005. When Zmago took over the estate from his father, he planted new vineyards with local varieties and decided he wanted to work solely with unique and indigenous varieties ‘Zelen’ and ‘Pinela’, which are found no where else in the world. Zmago is fully committed to working biodynamically, fermenting with natural yeasts and picking by hand, and the results are truly special. He is determined to show the world the quality of the indigenous varieties of his homeland, and the results are beautifully textured and expressive wines. The Pinela is distinguished by its complex nose - aromas of peach, pineapple, citrus and dried flowers. A full-body and distinct minerality complete the balance of freshness and smoothness. The Zelen has an aroma of Mediterranean herbs – bay, rosemary, thyme – combined with fruity and floral notes.
