Patrick Miolane

Patrick Miolane took over the running of the domaine from his father in 1998. Comprising some 8 hectares, it is situated on the outskirts of St. Aubin but there are also vineyard holdings in Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet. Producing a range of red and white wines from each of his appellations it is Patrick’s white wines which really excel. These are true vins de terroir, discrete and mineral with wonderful purity, structure and minerality. Even the Aligote possesses amazing substance and character. Patrick began to introduce a small percentage of new oak to his wines in 2001 and the St. Aubin Village sees 20%. It is a fabulously balanced wine with excellent ripeness and concentration. The 1er Cru is in a different league again. One third of the oak is new for this wine which has incredible depth, body and purity. Finally, the Chassagne-Montrachet La Caniere combines superb ripeness of fruit and minerality of terroir with excellent poise and finesse.
