A collection of Christmas offers from Gauntleys would not be complete without a selection of mature fine wines from the winemaking haven most near and dear to our hearts: Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We have been importing from this appellation for over 40 years, and to this day the wines have lost none of their magic. Carrying similar esteem and reverence to the great wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, this historic appellation is synonymous with bold, deep, complex, age-worthy and awe-inspiring reds wines. This mixed case contains four reds and 2 whites from some of the top addresses in the region.
On the red side we have: the 2020 Cuvée Reservée from Domaine du Pegau, powerful and dense with lots of notes of currents, pepper, cured meats and garrigue; the 2020 Tradition from Domaine Porte Rouge, with a much fresher more approachable and cherry fruit driven profile; the 2020 Tradition from Domaine Giraud, Full-bodied, ripe, sexy and seamless with succulent ripe tannins and a wonderful intensity; and finally the 2020 from Clos du Mont Olivet, which enchants the senses with its captivating aroma of roses before showcasing a core of ripe kirsch and black raspberries, complemented by subtle hints of herbs and olives. The finish is both rich, energetic and elegant, leaving a lasting impression.
On the white side we have: we have the 2022 Chateauneuf Blanc from Clos du Mont Olivet, brings together crisp flavours of pear and pineapple, accompanied by a delightful hint of creaminess on the medium to full-bodied palate; followed by the 2021 CNDP Blanc from Pegau, showing the freshness and acidity of Clairette blended with the character of the white Grenache. The nose comes to life with peach, citrus, apricot and white flowers like honeysuckle, the palate then delivers on the promises of the nose, it is rich and textured whilst remaining lively, with fresh acidity and minerality.
All lovingly crafted with the aim of being an experience, not just to be enjoyed as another alcoholic beverage, these are delicious wines that will enhance any special occasion and perfectly partner all kinds of lavish seasonal feasts this Christmas; but which will also continue to evolve over the coming decade should you choose to keep a few behind in your cellar for a worthy occasion down the road.

Wine is shipped directly from our bonded warehouse so unfortunately you can't use Click and Collect for wine.

At the checkout you can leave instructions for the courier to deliver to a neighbours address or left in a safe place around your home if you are out. You can also send to an alternative address such as your work.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country.
