Chateau Henri Bonnaud
Sometimes tracking down a wine can take some time. My first experience of the Rose from Henri Bonnaud in Palette was during a lunch in the Provencal town of St Remy a few years ago. As with all things best intentions get put to one side and it was only this year that I decided to track down this gorgeous yet rare rose. Palette is the smallest appellation in France covering 42 hectares and consisting of just a handful of growers. The appellation nestles at the foot of the famous Mont Sainte Victoire, which was immortalised by the artist Paul Cezanne.
The domain is owned and run by Stephane Spitzglous, the third generation of family winemakers. The estate is named after his grandfather.
